Additional Guides Get Away Dates Announced
13 January 2010
Due to strong popularity of our weekend Guides Get Away events Pax Lodge has decided to release additional dates for Guides Get Away in 2010. Guides from across the UK as far away as Devon, Scotland and Preston, have attended the first two Guide Get Aways events our World Centre offered. Our new dates are open to all members of WAGGGS and are not just open for Guide age girls and their leaders. We tailor each Guides Get Away event to the types of groups attending. So don’t miss out. Spots are filling fast so make sure to secure your groups space today.
Explore London and take in a trip to the theatre, learn about global Guiding and World Centres, and visit the newly restored Maze at Crystal Palace Park which celebrates the beginning of Girlguiding UK.
Some of the event highlights will be celebrating 100 years with international activities such as dance, songs, games and crafts, exploring London including a trip to the theatre, changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace and great views from the London Eye or a River Cruise. You will get to learn about global guiding and the world centres, discover Crystal Palace Park with challenges and scavenger hunts and have an afternoon tea at Pax Lodge. One Guide even said that the day had been “great, better than Disneyland!”
Other Guides Get Away participants have said, “I had a fantastic time at Pax Lodge, learned loads of new things. I loved the Greek dancing and I can’t get rick-a-bamboo out of my head. Thanks for everything.”
“Thank you all at Pax Lodge for helping us celebrate our centenary in such a memorable way. Excellent weekend had by all,” mentioned a Guide Leader.
